Tourism in Rudong county, Nantong, Jiangsu province saw an uptick during the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7.

According to data, Xiaoyangkou Scenic Spot in Rudong county attracted close to 210,000 tourists during the holiday, a year-on-year increase of 5 percent, and total tourism revenue reached 18 million yuan ($2.52 million).

The scenic spot recently upgraded its facilities, improved its services and added several new attractions. New additions include a farm and a park, both of which proved popular among visitors.

The area's extensive transportation network, consisting of expressways, high-speed rails and airports, has been promoted in Rudong county and the surrounding areas in recent years, meaning buses are no longer the only option for citizens. 

During the holiday, a total of 49,579 passengers traveled from Rudong bus terminal, a decrease of 16.52 percent compared to last year.
