Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province has been working to digitalize its healthcare management in recent years.

According to the city's health commission, Nantong has established an electronic health records (EHR) system to help people better monitor and record their health status. The EHR system also makes it easy for doctors to reduce unnecessary inspections and ensure accurate medical treatment.

Additionally, many Nantong hospitals have adopted the HIS (hospital information system), which can streamline the registration process for patients and help improve overall efficiency.

Nantong has also opened up referral channels with 17 hospitals and medical institutions in Shanghai. Hospitals designated by the Nantong health commission can make appointments at the Shanghai hospitals on behalf of their patients directly through an online platform.

For patients who cannot be transferred to Shanghai hospitals due to their age, health or various other reasons, remote consultations will be carried out with experts in Shanghai.
