Learn about abacuses in Chongchuan

The China Abacus Museum is located by the northern bank of the Haohe River in Chongchuan district, Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province.

It officially opened to the public on Dec 6 2004 and is the world’s largest museum of its kind.

The museum covers a floor area of more than 6,000 square meters and consists of three parts: an abacus exhibition hall, an academic report hall, and an abacus training center for children. It is a multifaceted museum that focuses on exhibitions, research, education, communication, and tourism. 

It houses more than 10,000 abacuses and historical records, among which many have immense historical and cultural value.
