Construction work on an intelligent supply chain project worth more than $15 million has begun in Haimen city, Nantong, in East China’s Jiangsu province, according to a July 8 report in the Haimen Daily.

The project, funded by Hong Kong-based Metropoly Holdings Ltd, is Haimen’s first foreign-funded project for this year and will be established in the Haimen Economic and Technological Development Zone.

Founded in 1993, Metropoly Holdings Ltd has its headquarters in Hong Kong and has offices in Beijing. With agencies set up in Japan and Korea, the company is one of Asia's leading investment development and asset management companies.

The project, which has a registered capital of $60 million, will mainly focus on the distribution of support services in the manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta. After completion, the annual sales income will be 1 billion yuan, and the annual tax payment will exceed 60 million yuan.

According to a project leader, Haimen won the project because of convenient location close to the sea and Shanghai. In addition, the high-quality and efficient business environment of the Haimen Economic and Technological Development Zone impressed the company’s management.
