A group of senior officials from Shanghai universities visited Tongzhou on June 15 and offered advice on how to develop their hometown.

The officials included Cheng Danhong, Party secretary of Shanghai University, and Cao Xikang, Party secretary of the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

They visited Jianghai Huizhi Park, Jintaiyang Textile Technology Co Ltd, and Tongzhou High School and learned about the development of traditional industries, talent training, and urban planning and construction.

Ling Qi, head of Tongzhou district, briefed officials on the social and economic development of the district. He expressed hope that university officials and experts would work to improve cooperation between Tongzhou district and universities in Shanghai.

“We will take this opportunity to establish a closer relationship with universities in Shanghai,” he said, “We will build mutually beneficial mechanisms and platforms to encourage more sci-tech talents to start businesses here.” 

Chen Yonghong, Party secretary of the Tongzhou district committee, expressed hope that university leaders and experts would help Tongzhou tackle technological difficulties in industrial innovation and transformation.
