3.14 million fish released in Rudong

The 11th Fish Releasing Festival commenced on June 19 at Yangkou Port in Rudong county, Nantong, Jiangsu province on June 19. Nearly 3.14 million fish were released into the ocean.

Chen Huiyu, governor of Rudong county, said during his opening remarks that the releasing event is meant to help protect maritime ecosystems.

He said the event will help improve ecosystems in the sea around Rudong, restore fishery resources, and protect biodiversity in the area.

Efforts to protect the ocean will benefit not only this generation, but also many generations to come, said Chen.

He called on local enterprises and people from all walks of life to act now to ensure the oceans will remain healthy for future generations.

The annual fish releasing event has helped raise awareness of the importance of protecting the ocean. Statistics show that fish biodiversity in the waters around Rudong is improving.
