Shuihui Garden in Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, was listed among 40 sites as one of "Jiangsu's most beautiful landmarks along the Grand Canal". The list was announced on June 4.

Shuihui Garden was first built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and has a history of more than 400 years. It is known as the former residence of the gifted scholar Mao Pijiang and Dong Xiaowan, one of the "eight most popular geishas of Qinhuai River in Nanjing".

The garden covers an area of 270,000 square meters and consists of ancient architecture, a Rugao-style bonsai garden, a museum of longevity, an amusement park, and some historic streets.

The selection process was carried out by organizations such as the Jiangsu publicity department, Jiangsu water conservancy department, and Jiangsu culture and tourism department from December 2018 to April 2019. The list is meant to promote and preserve landmarks along the Grand Canal.
