The first Ultraman theme park in the world, which has been developed in Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park – located in the Lin-gang Special Area, East China's Shanghai city – will open for business on July 24.

Ultraman is a Japanese television series superhero created in 1966 and the new park consists of Ultraman-themed facilities such as a theater, restaurant, exhibition area, shop and entertainment center.

On show are about 400 Ultraman-featured exhibits and more than 200,000 Ultraman-themed merchandise goods are for sale. There are also 3,000 Ultraman soft glue toys on display  and 20 varieties of Ultraman-themed food, as well as 40 limited Ultraman commodities from the Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park featuring its marine culture.

Tourists can enjoy the original series – Ultraman Heroes, Protecting the Light of the Ocean and Ultraman Heroes, Ocean Gathering War – to be staged in the Ultraman Theater and  afterwards taste Japanese ramen noodles and Ultraman-shaped curry rice in the themed restaurant.

There are also prized exhibits such as rare Ultraman models, global limited Ultraman sculptures and weapons models in the Ultraman-themed exhibition area. In the Ultraman entertainment center, a variety of motion-sensing amusement equipment seeks to create thrills and fun.

In addition, Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park will launch the first Ultraman electronic music square in China. An Ultraman-themed hotel is also under construction.

An Ultraman energy station will integrate food, shopping and entertainment and offer iconic food like popcorn buckets and ice cream bars. It will complete the layout of nearly 100 sites across the country.

After the Ultraman-themed hotel opens its doors, the Ultraman-themed entertainment area there will seek to provide tourists with a new experience – integrating eating, living, traveling, entertaining and shopping.
