Lin-gang Special Area makes headway in IP financial services
The Lin-gang Special Area – in East China's Shanghai city – on April 22 released a white paper on its intellectual property or IP protection, as part of this year's National Intellectual Property Publicity Week which opened on April 20 and runs through to April 26.
The white paper covered the period from August 2019 to December 2021. It found that by the end of last year, the number of effective invention patents per 10,000 people in the Lin-gang Special Area had reached 59.82, with 26.4 of them having a high value.
Moreover, Lin-gang ranked third in the invention patent authorization index per 10,000 people in Shanghai.
In addition, at a news conference for the release of the white paper, the authorities introduced via video the financial promotions policy for intellectual property in Shanghai.
They called on financial institutions to further increase the "first loan" for small and micro enterprises, pledge credit loans – and renew loans without repayment of the principal and insurance promotions, to ease financial pressures on micro, small and medium-sized enterprises caused by the novel coronavirus epidemic.
More than 100 representatives from the China-Europe College of Intellectual Property at the Shanghai Institute of Technology, financial institutes, companies, government departments and intellectual property service agencies attended the online event.
