2022 WAIC developers conference held in Lin-gang

Shanghai city in East China will step up its efforts to promote open-source algorithms, open data and the overall development of computing power, according to presentations made at the developers conference of 2022 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, or WAIC held on Feb 26 in the Lin-gang Special Area, located in the metropolis.
The conference is understood to have focused on basic research and infrastructure enhancements, technological innovations, training and other core issues.
The WAIC Shanghai Community was unveiled at the conference. Elsewhere, a white paper on AI development framework in 2022 was released.

Wu Jincheng, director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, said the city would pay more attention to cutting-edge AI technologies and promote the development of major national innovation institutions and major algorithm platforms.
"In the future, the WAIC developer ecosystem will continue to strengthen its collaboration with stakeholders – including academics and industry – to attract more innovative developers to Shanghai and to provide strong support for the development and layout of the AI industry in Shanghai and Lin-gang," said one of the conference organizers.
To date, the Lin-gang Special Area has introduced more than 100 AI enterprises, including Sensetime, Cambrian and Horizon. As a result, it has initially formed a full-coverage AI technology ecosystem and a full-domain AI independent innovation ecosystem.
