Intelligent technology helps improve govt work efficiency

The government of the Lin-gang Special Area – located in East China's Shanghai city – has built an analysis and monitoring system for its business ecosystem and aims to organize its commercial affairs through its visualized indicators.

The system has adopted 24 evaluation indicators from the World Bank, the National Development and Reform Commission and its own self-evaluation system, which displayed the overall business environment in the Lin-gang Special Area.

Digital and intelligent technology – such as artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing and blockchain – has played a great role in the system.

It is expected to promote its business service through collecting data, monitoring indicators and upgrading policies to benefit enterprises.

Lin-gang has introduced a raft of policies to shorten the time it takes for companies to get building permits, according to the results simulated by the analysis system.

In 2021, the area canceled two administrative procedures previously required to be undertaken by companies and the processing time was cut down by 45 days compared with the previous year.

According to the system, Lin-gang has improved its services in nine areas, including access to obtain credit, the time it takes to connect power to a property and other improvements.

Supported by big data, companies in the area can now claim all kinds of corporate tax at one time.
