Shanghai Xiaixi Hydrogen Energy Development Ltd – located in the Lin-gang Special Area in Shanghai – plans to build the first mobile hydrogen refueling station in China, according to a China Media Group news report on Dec 10.

The CIC skid-mounted hydrogen refueling equipment – the key components of the station – is an integrated device for water intake, to hydrogen production, storage and transportation, according to Wu Qiongxiong, chairman of the company.

The hydrogen refueling device is said to be the most advanced skid-mounted equipment known to date. It can provide services to the current 35 MPa hydrogen energy vehicles and is also said to pave the way for the promotion of 70 MPa vehicles.

Projections are that there will be 100 sets of hydrogen refueling equipment and half a million high–pressure hydrogen tanks installed there by 2025. By that time the company is expected to be able to produce 2,000 sets of the skid-mounted equipment per year. Once fully completed, its production plant there will provide nearly 10,000 job opportunities.

The company has established a demonstration zone for China-Japan regional development cooperation in the Lin-gang Special Area, expecting to develop the most advanced hydrogen energy demonstration zone.
