Montage Technology, a Shanghai-based integrated circuit design company, held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new research and development headquarters in the city's Lin-gang Special Area on Nov 27.

Founded in 2004, Montage Technology is dedicated to providing high-performance, low-power IC solutions for cloud computing and data center markets.

According to Shanghai's plan for the development of advanced manufacturing in the country's 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), by 2025, the city will double the scale of its IC industry, and build an IC innovation mecca with independent development ability and global influence.

The Oriental IC Port – a municipal characteristic industrial park featuring the IC industry in Lin-gang Special Area – is an important part of the city's industrial layout. A large number of major projects have settled in Lin-gang in recent years, making the area an IC hotspot.   

Upon completion, the new R&D HQ will enhance the R&D and product innovation capacity of Montage Technology, as well as perfect the plan for Oriental IC Port.
