Oriental Pearl film, TV center to settle in Lin-gang
The planned Oriental Pearl digital film production center and the film and television industry 4.0 demonstration and practice area kicked off construction in the Lin-gang Special Area, Shanghai – following a groundbreaking ceremony on Nov 23.
The production center – being funded by Shanghai Media Group and Shanghai Oriental Pearl Group Co Ltd – will aim to be a new benchmark film and television facility in the 4.0 era of the Chinese film and television industry.
It will cover an area of over 80,000 square meters and the first phase is scheduled to start operating in 2023.
The center is understood to be the first major film and television project in the Lin-gang Special Area. Moving forwards, companies based there are expected to enjoy the support and incentive policies of Lin-gang in terms of investment, the creation of programs and films, training and recruiting of skilled personnel and taxation, among other things.
At the construction launch event, three new projects were also unveiled. They are the Oriental Pearl visual arts training center, the China Broadcasting and Television Media – Pearl film and TV construction innovation research center, as well as a research center for the green development of the cultural industry.
