The first oceans exhibition in Shanghai kicked off on Nov 9 at the China Maritime Museum in the Lin-gang Special Area.

It is a permanent exhibition, sponsored by the China Maritime Museum and the Shanghai Municipal Oceanic Bureau.

More than 400 exhibits, including fascinating interactive displays and what are called dreamlike underwater scenes can be found there.

The exhibition area is divided into four sections: the blue planet, a colorful life, underwater treasure house and protecting the blue. These aim to popularize knowledge about the natural world of the ocean – from ocean geography, to ocean life, ocean development and ocean protection.
