Achieving the SDGs is a challenge global universities can only meet together, said Asher Cohen, president of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem at the WLA University Presidents Forum.

"A successful collaboration is based on sharing and trust," said Lap-Chee Tsui, laureate of the 1990 Canada Gairdner Int'l Award and also the 14th vice-chancellor of the University of Hong Kong.

Getting results should be the top priority of scientific research. "I will share my ideas and contribute my efforts as much as I possibly can," said Tsui.

Tsui is confident that OpenScience will generate important scientific findings and provide solutions to various SDGs.

"Universities should stick to playing the role of being a platform that quickly connects the government, enterprises, and NGOs to promote the sustainable development of industry with open innovation", said Wu Zhaohui, president of Zhejiang University and academician of the CAS.

Wu also introduced Innovation2030 by ZJU, involving AI, brain science, and 10 other subjects. He believes openness and innovation will lead to industrial innovation, as do the 17 SDGs.
