The Integrated Circuit Alliance of the Lin-gang Special Area – located in East China's Shanghai – on Sept 15 signed up with the Sinan Semiconductor Super Accelerator to establish a long-term and close partnership, which is expected to help boost the development of the area's integrated circuit, or IC, industry.

The two parties – who signed the agreement at the second Semiconductor Industry Development Summit in the Lin-gang Special Area – will carry out entrepreneurship and innovation activities. They will share resources and jointly build a service platform for science and technology investment that aims to be competitive in the domestic market.

Sinan Incubator – the parent brand of Sinan Semiconductor Super Accelerator – is a technology business incubator and accelerator brand released launched by Shanghai Lingang SC-Innovation Investment Management Co Ltd. It provides industry services and resources for enterprises in different vertical industries, as well as offers incubation and innovation services for sci-tech innovation enterprises.

Under the agreement the Sinan Semiconductor Super Accelerator, focusing on the semiconductor industry, will attract upstream and downstream enterprises in the semiconductor industry supply chain. It will form close relations with industry leaders, investment institutions and sci-tech innovation service institutions, so as to support local semiconductor enterprises.

The Integrated Circuit Alliance of the Lin-gang Special Area was established by the Lin-gang Special Area Administration and the Lingang Group in 2020 to promote the establishment of an IC industrial base in Lin-gang.

To date, the Lin-gang Special Area has attracted more than 120 IC companies to locate operations there, involving a total investment of more than 150 billion yuan ($23.2 billion).

Plans are that by 2025, the IC industry will have developed into one of the three industrial clusters valued over 100 billion yuan in the area.
