Lin-gang to build processor, supercomputer chip R&D center
A signing ceremony took place on Sept 13 for the planned Smart Logic processor and supercomputer chip research and development center – which will focus on special computer-intensive chips for R&D enterprises – to be built in the Lin-gang Special Area in East China's Shanghai.
Beijing Smart Logic Technology Ltd completed independent intellectual property rights for MaPU – a novel algebraic computing microprocessor which is suitable for data-intensive computing, with great power efficiency and sustained computation throughput.
MaPU is reportedly expected to take the lead in the field of intensive computing and is understood to a wide applications space. Several applications chips based on the architecture have already been highly recognized by the industry and customers.
Smart Logic's follow-up development strategy is expected to rely on the industrial platform of the Lin-gang Special Area, to recruit top personnel and attract upstream and downstream companies.
