The Lin-gang Special Area in East China's Shanghai held a ceremony for the establishment of the Lin-gang Special Area Alliance for Education Development on Sept 6.

The alliance, led by the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, is a non-governmental organization established by regional schools and related interested parties.

Formed on the basis of the original Nanhui New Town Alliance for Education Development, the alliance has been expanded from 23 member units in 152 square kilometers to 60 member units in 343 sq km in the main urban area of Lin-gang.

The lists of the first batch of open resources and projects to be undertaken by alliance member units were announced at the ceremony.

The Division of Social Development at the Lin-gang Special Area Administration also signed an agreement with the Shanghai Pudong Institute of Education Development at the ceremony to provide intellectual support for Lin-gang's education development.

In addition, Shanghai Lin-gang Economic Development (Group) Co Ltd, Shanghai Lin-gang New City Investment & Construction Co Ltd, Shanghai Jianqiao University and Yew Wah International Education School (Shanghai Lingang) initiated the establishment of the Lin-gang Special Area education development foundation.

Its goal is to attract more social and individual donation funds for the introduction and training of talent in basic education, the integration of production and education, as well as education research and foreign participation in administering and running schools.
