In response to the national hydrogen energy development strategy, Lin-gang Special Area in Shanghai plans to build three oil-hydrogen fueling stations, according to its three-year plan for energy.

The Pingxiao Road oil-hydrogen fueling station – the first of its kind in the Lin-gang Special Area – has started construction recently, and is expected to finish construction in September and start operating in December.

The project, with an investment of 40 million yuan ($6.19 million), will be built into a comprehensive energy service station integrating both hydrogen and oil refueling. It will have one hydrogen storage tank group, two gasoline double storage tanks, and two diesel double storage tanks. The station is designed to provide 1,000 kilograms of hydrogen energy per day.

The station is located at the intersection of Pingxiao Road and Zhenglang Road in the Lingang Fengxian Industrial Park. It will mainly serve Lin-gang's T6 line bus routes, which will have a larger passenger capacity than normal buses. It will also meet the hydrogen refueling demands of hydrogen-fueled commuter and logistics vehicles in the Lingang Fengxian Industrial Park.
