Shanghai Ocean University and electronics manufacturing giant INESA signed a strategic cooperation agreement on April 10, to launch a new AI+ marine innovation center in the Lin-gang Special Area, which is located in East China's Shanghai. 

The two parties will reportedly boost their cooperation in artificial intelligence and marine science and explore cross-disciplinary developments. 

The new center will conduct research into data mining and core AI algorithms in marine science and transform it into commercial applications. By integrating education and industry, it will also aim to train and hire an applications-oriented workforce in the area. 

The partners also plan to design marine-themed activities, to promote associated AI culture in the university, as well as in the wider community and the Lin-gang Special Area.

They plan to apply AI technologies to the university's campus, to improve its management efficiency.
