Spring Festival, which ran from Feb 11 to 17 this year, is a traditional Chinese holiday featuring mass travel and family reunions.

However, to curb the spread of COVID-19, the municipal government of East China's Shanghai called for residents to avoid nonessential travel and spend the holiday where they live.

Under the current circumstances, 80 workers at Snow World, the world's largest ice and snow amusement project in the Lin-gang Special Area of Shanghai returned to work on Feb 14.

"I'd rather work and earn money than rest, since I can't go home this Spring Festival," one worker said.

"I can make more money, so that I can buy some new clothes for my little daughter when I go home later to avoid the peak holidays," he added.
