The first container truck service center in the Lin-gang Special Area – located the Pudong New Area of the city of Shanghai in East China – reportedly initiated trial operations in late January.

The new center is a government public service facility that aims to relieve traffic congestion at the No 1 checkpoint of the Donghai Bridge, provide parking slots for container trucks in bad weather, improve the general environment for truck drivers and provide them with recreational and living services.

It is located on the south side of the S2 Hulu Expressway, the east side of Guangxiang Road and the southwest quadrant of the Lianggang Avenue interchange.

The facility has a total area of about 133,000 square meters and can provide about 710 parking slots for container trucks, with support service facilities covering 4,924 sq m.

Apart from providing parking, the center provides truck drivers with catering services, supermarkets and convenient stores, lounges and shower rooms, auto repair services and other support services.

The service center will gradually employ smart parking management, give full play to its parking function and support services and establish online reporting platforms. With the help of information technology, the center is designed to implement an effective traffic flow regulation function and provide other support services.

The container truck service center will undertake social responsibilities and will also work to improve the quality and level of its services by getting the feedback of truck drivers.
