Shanghai Metro Line 16 to the Lin-gang Special Area of the China Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone will introduce non-stop train services from June 18.

Line 16 will have four direct trains running every weekday, traveling directly to Longyang Road Station and Dishui Lake Station without stopping. The entire journey will take just 37 minutes.

There are two trains running from Longyang Road Station to Dishui Lake Station at 7:30am and 12:30am, and two trains from Dishui Lake Station to Longyang Road Station at 12am and 5:45pm.

The non-stop trains will be about 20 minutes faster than ordinary trains and nine minutes faster than large-station trains that only stop at large stations.

After the implementation of the new scheme, large-station trains on Line 16 will depart every 30 minutes.

The operator will adjust the schedule on working days according to demand, and increase the number of direct trains on weekends and holidays.

Two customized shuttle routes linking Dishui Lake Station with Lingang Fengxian Park were also developed for Line 16 direct trains during rush hours.
