The China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Lin-gang Special Area Administration signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China United Gas Turbine Technology Co Ltd to build gas turbine research and development bases in the area on June 11.

With an investment in the tens of billions of yuan, China United Gas Turbine Technology Co Ltd plans to construct their headquarters base, R&D innovation base, and test and verification base in Lin-gang Special Area.

According to an official at the company, R&D of gas turbines requires large amounts of tests and verification. The test base will be able to carry out the industrial grade test verification of key components and will be at a relatively advanced level both at home and abroad after completion.
