An intellectual property protection center of the Shanghai procuratorial organs were established in Lin-gang Special Area on April 30.

The center will conduct in-depth research on IPR protection in Lin-gang, release the work trends of the judicial organs in maintaining scientific and technological innovation and protecting intellectual property, and carry out intellectual property legal consultation and relevant policy interpretation for market entities in the area upon starting operation.

12 professional procuratorial case teams covering shipping, finance, smuggling, intellectual property and other fields will provide high quality and efficient inspection services for Lin-gang's market subjects after the establishment of the Shanghai procuratorial organs Lin-gang Special Area service base.

The Shanghai People's Procuratorate will also open an online platform on the government website of Lin-gang Special Area to offer 24-hour real-time consulting services for criminal and commercial cases, and accept information and complaints pertaining to IPR violations and crimes in the area.

The Lin-gang Special Area Administration and the third branch of Shanghai People's Procuratorate also signed a memorandum of understanding on promoting the construction of an intellectual property protection mechanism of Lin-gang Special Area at the opening ceremony.

The two sides will establish an information exchange mechanism, establish an intellectual property public service platform to carry out specialized services, and research IPR protection of new technologies, new industries, new forms of business and new business models in Lin-gang.
