Shanghai North Ocean Science Technology Co Ltd signed an agreement to build a world-class wafer-level optical R&D production center in the Lingang Industrial Area on April 21.

Shanghai North Ocean Science Technology received funding from North Ocean Photonics Co Ltd and plans to build the North Ocean Photonics Wafer-level Optical R&D Production Base. Offering design, plate-making, scale production, and testing, the base will play an important technical role in the fields of 3D imaging and unmanned navigation, AR/MR display, 5G optical communications, medical imaging, aviation defense and automatic security.  

Shanghai North Ocean Science Technology plans to develop the next generation of 3D imaging TOF optical field modulation optical chips, resolve technology difficulties posed by AR display holographic grating waveguides, and achieve mass production.
