The Dayin Book Mall in Lin-gang Special Area is the sixth bookstore owned by Shanghai Dayin Book Mall Co Ltd.

The travel-themed bookstore started operating in April 2018 and houses more than 2,000 books on domestic and international travel. Books focus on domestic and foreign cultural scenery, tourism and travel information, and travel photography.

The Dayin Book Mall is the first to a use a new "shared book" model, meaning that all books in the store can be read without purchasing them. Anybody with a library card can borrow any book valued at less than 300 yuan ($42.4) for free for up to seven days.

In addition, the book mall is holding events such as book-sharing meetups, art salons, cultural activities, performances, and art displays.
