The Lin-gang Special Area was honored with the titles of national foreign trade transformation and upgrading base (automobiles and parts) and Shanghai international service trade demonstration base by the Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce respectively on Jan 2.

The Lin-gang Special Area site of the Digital Trade Promotion Platform was officially launched on the same day, which is of great significance in further promoting high-quality development of its new international trade.

The automobile and parts base in the Lin-gang Special Area has attracted 19 members, beginning a fast development trend of globally renowned auto parts companies gathering with SAIC Motor passenger car manufacturing and Tesla vehicle manufacturing as leading players. The base's export value in 2019 achieved growth of more than 160 percent.

The Shanghai international service trade demonstration base will highlight the area's advantages in gathering information, elements and resources and promoting service trade development, especially in digital trade, technological trade and service outsourcing.

The Lin-gang Special Area site of the Digital Trade Promotion Platform will provide public services such as copyright processing, finance, translation, training and provision of information. Twenty enterprises are participating in the platform with nearly 100 items of product and service information.
