In the industrial map, it is clear that Lin-gang Special Area's industrial orientations reflect the country's strategic missions. Based on the innovative development of bottleneck and key technologies in emerging industries, the area focuses on its three major functions: developing cutting-edge industries, providing high-end services and applying innovation synergy. It is mainly developing seven frontier industries: integrated circuits, artificial intelligence (AI), bio-medicine, aviation and aerospace, new energy vehicles, equipment manufacturing and green remanufacturing.

Moreover, in finance, trade, shipping and other services, Lin-gang Special Area is mainly developing five modern service industries: new-type international trade, cross-border financial services, shipping services, information services, scientific and technological innovation services.

A clear definition of Lin-gang Special Area's industrial orientations and layout will better guide its industrial distribution and cultivate its industrial ecology. It is also conducive to breaking down information barriers between the government and enterprises, and providing more accurate support for building an open industrial system in Lin-gang Special Area.
