Giant container ship Maria Christina sails from Dalian Port

On October 25, the giant container ship Maria Christina, equipped with the world's largest Type-B LNG fuel tank, smoothly departed from Berth 15 at Dalian Port after completing loading and unloading operations.

Dalian Port is the first port of call for the vessel after its delivery. It's also the first time that Dalian Port handled a gaint container ship of such a kind.

The vessel was the first of eight orders custom-made by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co Ltd for the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC). Measuring 366 meters in length, 51 meters in molded breadth and 30 meters in molded depth, the vessel was delivered in Dalian on October 21. Following a safe, economical and environmentally-friendly design concept, it meets the latest global emission standards. Equipped with a 13,000-cubic-meter Type-B LNG fuel tank weighing 1,200 tons, it is the world's largest Type-B LNG fuel tank container ship.

Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co Ltd will continue to advance the application of new energy equipment and upgrade its berth and shore power facilities, partnering with port and shipping enterprises to drive green development and contribute to Liaogang Port Group's goal of "building a world-class port."
