Jinpu New Area welcomed 12,802 new market entities in the first five months this year, according to the local market regulatory administration.
The number of new market entities increased 32.64 percent year-on-year, and their combined registered capital reached 85.52 billion yuan ($12.74 billion), a year-on-year increase of 12.15 percent.

In the January-May period, Jinpu registered 6,050 new enterprises, up by 18.09 percent year on year, including 5,991 new domestic enterprises (up by 19.39 percent) with a combined registered capital of 72.28 billion yuan (up by 172.41 percent). The New Area also registered 59 new foreign-funded enterprises.
The new individual businesses increased by 6,752, a year-on-year increase of 49.08 percent, with a capital amount of 600 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 51.20 percent. There have been 5,637 new domestic private enterprises, up by 18.55 percent year-on-year, with a combined registered capital of 37.41 billion yuan, up by 59.37 percent year-on-year.
Most industries achieved year-on-year growth, among which management of water conservancy, the environment and public facilities increased by 166.67 percent year-on-year, and the agriculture, forestry, husbandry and fishery industries increased by 106.25 percent year-on-year, while the scientific research and technical service industries increased by 54.19 percent year-on-year and the financial intermediation industry increased by 50 percent year-on-year.
