The shipment volume of Japanese commercial vehicles exceeded 1,000 units for the first time in April through the efforts of Dalian Automobile Terminal Co Ltd (DAT) of the Liaoning Port Group, which recorded its highest monthly shipment volume since 2021.
With Dalian as its hub, the Liaoning Port Group is actively pushing forward the construction of an international sea-railway channel for commercial vehicle transshipment, and since the end of January 2021 has initiated a transshipment project for Japanese commercial vehicles, of which the annual shipment volume has exceeded 4,000 units. The logistic time for those vehicles has been shortened to about 28 days, which can save more than half of the transportation time compared to the past, efficiently reducing comprehensive logistic costs and strengthening the competitiveness of Japanese commercial vehicles in central Asian markets.
The DAT is continuously increasing the service quality and efficiency of its transshipment project for Japanese commercial vehicles, and is promoting the steady development of a sea-railway channel for commercial cars. The railway shipment volume of this project has reached over 3,000 units in the first four months in 2022, with a year-on-year growth of nearly 180 percent.
