At the recently held Dalian investment promotion project ceremony, Jinpu New Area has signed 18 major projects, while construction has started on the Dalian Modern Agricultural Industry Center, which has received a total investment of 3 billion yuan ($443.1 million) in the first phase of construction and will be completed and put into use by the end of 2022.
In the second quarter, Dalian city plans to sign 766 new projects, with a total investment of 513.2 billion yuan. Jinpu New Area plans to sign contracts and start construction of 143 projects with a total investment of 178 billion yuan.

Sixty-eight of the projects to be signed alone represent a year-on-year increase of 41.7 percent and a month-on-month increase of 94.3 percent; the total investment is 105.35 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 213.6 percent and a month-on-month increase of 281.2 percent.
There are 75 new projects to be started, up 12 percent year-on-year and 19 percent month-on-month; the total investment is 72.6 billion yuan, up 537 percent year-on-year and 252 percent month-on-month.
