Renault Brilliance Jinbei's (RBJ) research and development (R&D) center was put into service in Shenyang, the capital of Northeast China's Liaoning province, June 18. It is another key project in Renault's strategy of "driving the future" following the opening of its Shanghai design center.
To accelerate the pace of transformation and strengthen core competitiveness, the RBJ R&D center has set up a team of 350 high-end talents, among which nearly 20 are senior engineers and 30 percent of those are postgraduates. In a bid to rapidly and efficiently introduce the advanced technology of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, the center also introduced over 10 foreign experts.
The powertrain department was one of the first to move into the center. With the help of the alliance's technology and foreign experts, the department will concentrate on the scientific and technological fields of traditional internal combustion engines and new energy development and management modules for powertrain projects, to comprehensively enhance the performance of RBJ vehicles in the future.
