German students embark on immersive cultural journey in Nanjing

Nineteen students from Germany recently arrived at Jinling High School Hexi Campus in Nanjing for a week-long immersive experience in Chinese culture. Accompanied by their host families and volunteers, they integrated into campus life and explored the charm of the city.

In the calligraphy classroom, the students wrote the Chinese character "福" (fortune) with traditional brushes. During golf lessons, they swung their clubs, learning the elegance and skill of the sport. They also engaged in Baduanjin, a traditional Chinese martial arts exercise, experiencing the balance of strength and softness in Chinese kung fu. In the choir class, German and Chinese students sang together.

Afternoons were dedicated to exploring Nanjing's cultural and historical landmarks. The German students visited the Confucius Temple, the Nanjing Imperial Examination Museum of China, and the Nanjing City Wall Museum. They tasted authentic Nanjing delicacies and immersed themselves in the bustling yet historic atmosphere along the Qinhuai River, deepening their understanding of Chinese culture with each stop.

At the closing ceremony, students from both countries delivered captivating performances. The Chinese students presented traditional music and dance, while the German students expressed their appreciation for China through poetry recitation and a guitar solo.
