The Digital Law team at Southeast University's School of Law, supported by the university's Big Data Computing Center, recently released "Faheng-R1", the first deep reasoning AI model developed by a Chinese university in the legal domain. The model represents a major step forward in legal AI, shifting from a simple knowledge-based Q&A tool to a collaborative partner for legal professionals.

"Faheng-R1" is designed to assist legal professionals, corporate legal teams, researchers, and the general public by providing legal consultation, text generation, and case analysis. A key innovation of the model is its multi-role deep reasoning data synthesis method, which improves the accuracy of legal element analysis and enhances the explainability of legal reasoning.

Starting today, "Faheng-R1" will be gradually introduced for internal testing among faculty and students at the Southeast University's School of Law. At the same time, the team is launching a legal AI collaboration program, making its deep reasoning legal dataset available under an open-source protocol to support legal technology researchers and drive the industry's intelligent transformation.
