At 64, Zhu Zhonghai, a retired teacher from Yangzhou Technical Vocational College, embarked on a year-long teaching support mission in Xinjiang in November 2023. Driven by a sense of duty, he hopes to build a high-quality team of young educators and lay the foundation for future training programs.

During his mission, Zhu visited over 50 primary and secondary schools, as well as kindergartens, to assess local teaching conditions. His insights have helped shape training objectives and content tailored to the region's needs.

In Xinyuan county, Zhu introduced the "Dynamic Classroom" model, which promotes student-centered learning and active classroom participation. "The key is to make learning engaging, with students taking the initiative in discussions and exploration," he explained. Under his guidance, the local college entrance exam admission rate increased by nearly 10 percentage points in 2024.

Zhu is also known for his innovative approach to teaching mathematics. Using chalk art, he has transformed complex concepts into over 200 vivid illustrations, earning him the nickname "internet-famous teacher" among students.
