Embracing dualities: Life and learning in Wuxi
Living in Wuxi has been a fascinating experience for me, blending the charm of ancient traditions with the vibrancy of modern life. This city, nestled in Jiangsu province, offers a unique combination of old and new, where ancient temples and traditional tea houses coexist with sleek skyscrapers and contemporary shopping districts.
One of the most striking aspects of Wuxi is its infrastructure, which beautifully mirrors this duality. Walking through the streets, you can see historical architecture alongside modern developments, creating a landscape rich in history yet alive with current trends.

The people of Wuxi have been incredibly welcoming and helpful, adding warmth to my everyday experiences here. The locals are always willing to lend a hand whenever I come across a challenge, whether navigating the city or understanding local customs. Their friendliness and willingness to assist have made my transition to living here much smoother and more enjoyable.

Attending the Cherry Blossom Festival with my school and classmates was an unforgettable experience. It was my first time seeing cherry blossoms in Wuxi, and I was amazed by the sight of these delicate pink flowers, especially since I had only seen them in Japan before. The festival offered a visual feast and an excellent opportunity to engage with the local culture and traditions in a vibrant, communal setting.

My primary reason for being in Wuxi is to learn Chinese, and this journey has been enriching. I've received invaluable support from my university in gaining a deeper understanding of the language and fully immersing myself in Chinese culture.
The lectures and resources provided are beneficial, equipping me with the skills I need to navigate daily life and deepen my appreciation of the local customs. Each class provides new insights into Chinese culture, making it easier to connect with the people around me and understand the nuances of this rich and diverse culture.
My time in Wuxi has blended enriching experiences and valuable learning opportunities. The city's harmonious blend of modernity and tradition, coupled with the kindness of its people and the quality education I'm receiving, has made my stay here truly memorable.
