Expats explore intangible cultural heritage in Suqian

From July 10 to 11, expats from nearly 20 different countries gathered in Sihong county, Suqian, for an exploration of intangible cultural heritage.
Their first stop was the Hongze Lake Folk Customs Museum, which boasts a vast collection of fishing and farming artifacts. The participants observed ancient fishing boat models, learned about traditional fishing tools, and experienced the unique Hongze Lake Fisherman's Drum, gaining insights into the daily lives of local fishermen.

At a paper-cutting workshop, the expats had the opportunity to experience the craftsmanship of the traditional art, using blades to create simple patterns on red paper.
The group also visited the Rice Culture Museum in Shiji town, where they explored various exhibition halls to learn about the origins, cultivation methods, and processing techniques of rice.

The tour concluded with a visit to Shuanggou town, a place known for a natural environment conducive to brewing. Here, the expats learned about the art of crafting baijiu, a traditional Chinese liquor.
