A group of young American students recently had a ball experiencing the full charms of traditional Chinese culture in Taizhou city, located in East China's Jiangsu province.
Some 41 American students and teachers participating in the Discover Jiangsu American youth exchange camp visited Taizhou High School in Jiangsu province on June 22.
There they engaged in a raft of fun activities with local students and teachers. During their visit, they listened to Peking Opera performances, painted traditional opera masks, practiced martial arts, learned about traditional Chinese medicine and made dumplings.
The activities aimed to provide a hands-on experience of China's cultural heritage, leaving a lasting impression on the visiting American kids and helping to foster cross-cultural understanding.
