Nanjing Agricultural University delegation attends intl cultural exchange in Thailand

A group of 17 faculty members and students from Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU) recently traveled to Surin, Thailand, upon the invitation of the Surindra Rajabhat University (SRRU) to participate in the second Thailand Cultural Exchange Festival and a sustainable development-themed international conference.

The event saw the participation of delegations from 13 countries, with NAU being the sole representative from China. Xu Zaiyin, leader of the delegation and a Party official from the sports department of the university, said, "To participate in this exchange, our university prepared more than 20 performances, each highlighting the vibrant essence of traditional Chinese culture."

Aimed at fostering cultural exchange and demonstrating the richness of Chinese heritage, the rich performances included a showcase of traditional Chinese attire from various dynasties and a performance of Chinese swordsmanship.

NAU teachers and students also organized a Chinese culture promotion event, where they participated with other international students in activities such as dumpling making, paper cutting, and writing blessings, immersing themselves in the traditions of the Spring Festival. The international students were also able to learn Chinese martial arts and take part in a lion dance.

Chalong Suktong, president of SRRU, expressed appreciation for the rich and diverse cultural exchange activities brought by NAU, emphasizing that these activities not only allowed everyone to experience elements of a traditional Chinese festival but also fostered friendship and understanding among countries.
