The 2023 China-Europe Humanities and Arts Education Forum, organized by the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange of China's Ministry of Education and the China-Europe Education Alliance for Humanities and Arts, commenced at Nanjing University of the Arts on April 27.

Nearly 200 representatives from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European consulates in China, universities, and enterprises participated in the forum to discuss new experiences in cross-cultural art education.

The forum focused on seven topics, including the role of art in rural vitalization, interdisciplinary and cross-cultural art communities, humanities and art education for young people, and the preservation and exchange of Asian and European civilizations and cultures.

Yu Feng, Party secretary of Nanjing University of the Arts, said that dialogue and exchange between different cultures and arts are becoming increasingly common in today's world. The university, for example, has been deepening educational cooperation and cultural exchanges with renowned European universities such as the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, University of Bologna in Italy, and Heidelberg University in Germany in recent years.

Yang Shubing, deputy director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, said that in recent years, Jiangsu universities have established over 4,000 partnerships with foreign universities, and Jiangsu is home to 194 Sino-foreign joint educational institutions and programs, more than anywhere else in the country.

Additionally, Jiangsu currently hosts 32,400 international students from 178 countries, making it a major destination for foreign students.
