Jiangsu takes steps to further development of aging education

The learning centers situated within the universities in the province provide aging education by integrating and utilizing resources from universities and colleges.
Nanjing University is one of the universities involved in the pilot for learning centers. To launch courses that meets the needs of seniors, the School of Lifelong Education in the university has carried out field research in the residential community in Nanjing.
The university has also developed a smart platform for aged students to select courses, pay the fees and study online.
Nanjing Polytechnic Institute has established three education centers for seniors. There are now more than 40 regular courses, including four high-quality microlectures, at the institute. The institute has also carried out more than 20 activities to teach seniors how to use smart phones.

Jiangsu Open University has also launched education programs, including undergraduate education and specialist education courses, for the elderly.

Jiangsu aims to build about 50 learning centers for the elderly as part of efforts to further develop life-long education and aged education in the province.
