Nantong College of Science and Technology in Jiangsu province held a livestreaming show to "sell" jobs to its students June 28, local media reported.

Riding the wave of the prospering livestreaming industry and answering the nation's call to help graduates find jobs, the school worked out a new way to tackle the problem, which had staff members at the school's employment department serving as hosts and various companies taking turns to introduce their jobs.

"We work in a very friendly environment and offer complete and generous subsidies to our employees, we can also help them manage their marriage affairs," said a manager from Zenith Iron and Steel Group. "There are also multiple opportunities for exchange learning and we hope to see people at these."

As the second largest iron company in Jiangsu, Zenith provided more than 1,100 jobs and was in urgent need of professional technicians.

The two-hour livestreaming event attracted over 1,500 viewers, and many regarded it as a targeted and efficient way to make matches between graduates and companies.

Nantong College of Science and Technology has beefed up its efforts to help graduates find jobs. Aside from online job fairs, the school has also taken advantage of national and provincial-level employment platforms, and over 80 percent of its 2,000 graduates have secured job opportunities.
