The unbridled enthusiasm among international students at Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications drove away the winter blues at the school's second International Culture Day on Nov 15.

With a focus on youth, dreams and life, the event offered a chance for students from over 50 countries and regions such as Russia, Ghana, Bangladesh and Kazakhstan to showcase their distinctive cultures.

African students sang folk songs in a cappella while students from Uzbekistan danced as if their lives depended on it. Traditional Russian and Bangladeshi songs and dances also left spectators hungry for more. The day culminated in a mix of Chinese calligraphy and instrumental performances.

Fifteen booths set up outside the theater caught the eyes of numerous visitors, offering up appetizing delicacies, traditional dresses and accessories, and exotic music from every corner of the globe.

On the sidelines of the event, a list of student winners of the 2019 Jiangsu provincial and Nanjing municipal government scholarships was announced.

Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications has made steady progress in improving its international education in recent years. Overseas students have been able to take classes taught in English since 2014. The school's dedication to high-quality education was recognized by the China Education Association for International Exchange this October.
