Soochow University's annual international week, entitled "Meet the World at Soochow University", kicked off at the school's century-old campus in Jiangsu, East China on Oct 13, attracting over 2,000 students and teachers.
Students from Russia, France, Egypt and 18 other countries and regions set up booths at the campus to share their unique cultures. They also encouraged their Chinese schoolmates to participate in a variety of talent shows and foreign cultural experiences.
An international education exhibition was held on the sidelines. Cambridge and Oxford as well as over 20 other domestic and foreign higher learning institutions were in attendance.
Tiziana Lippiello, vice rector at the University of Venice in Italy, said it was her second time taking part in the school's international week.
"Soochow University is one of our most important partners in Asia – we cooperate in majors such as economics, culture and arts, and environment. Our students are satisfied with the international exchange opportunities, and I look forward to continuing to work together in the future," Lippiello said.
Starting the week of Oct 14, Soochow University will host a series of distinctive activities, such as interactive activities with Laotian students, salons on French culture, and discussions on higher education in the UK and US.
