Interns from Taiwan universities pay a visit to a grocery in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on Aug 16. The students were accompanied by a staff member from Jidesheng Tech Co, a body care insider which was listed by the local Taiwan affairs office as an internship base for students from across the Straits. It has joined hands with peer companies to host 44 students from 32 Taiwan colleges for a month-long internship since Aug 6. The eastern Chinese city has to date attracted more than 2,000 Taiwan-invested projects, registering actual investment of nearly $10 billion. Nantong also announced 50 regulations to foster economic and cultural exchanges between the two sides on March 1 this year, further detailing the preferential policies offered to Taiwan people and enterprises. Over 200 Taiwan youth have engaged in the Nantong job market or started up their businesses there. Roughly 34,000 people enjoyed direct flights between Nantong and Taiwan in 2018. [Photo/IC]
