The first 39 Namibian students finished their customized learning programs at Nantong Vocational University and graduated on June 14.
The three-year program has seen the Namibian graduates, who stood out from among 3,000 compatriots in 2016, become highly proficient in Chinese, innovation and entrepreneurship training sessions, as well as intercultural communicative competence competitions.
The programs were carried out in line with the business environment and national development demands of Namibia, and diversified majors such as logistics, constructional engineering, environmental engineering and mechanical manufacturing were offered to the students.
Bei Han (Chinese name), a 25-year-old student of constructional engineering, said the program has helped him gain confidence and qualify to further his studies at Nantong University after graduation.
Han Sijie (Chinese name), a logistics student, said his role model is Jack Ma, founder of China's e-commerce giant Alibaba, and he hopes to set up an acclimatized Alibaba in Namibia after graduation.
"I hope these youngsters can contribute to the development of Namibia using what they have learned in China," said Elia Kaiyamo, ambassador at the Namibian Embassy in Beijing.
