International students from Jiangsu University took a cultural visit to the towns of the Three Kingdoms and the Water Margin in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, on April 20.
Coming from countries such as Russia and Malaysia, the 70 students enjoyed their day watching historical shows, flying arrows to experience the heroic spirit of the ancient Chinese, and trying their hands at clay figurine modeling.
A student from Uzbekistan said the trip was interesting as the live shows enhanced his understanding of ancient Chinese battlegrounds and architectural style while refreshing his impression of Wuxi.
The towns of the Three Kingdoms and the Water Margin, a local movie/TV production base known as "Oriental Hollywood", was erected based upon historical records and has duplicated the buildings of ancient China. There are film and TV crews working at the base throughout the whole year. In addition, some interesting interactive features allowing tourists to communicate with their favorite stars have become one of the major on-site activities.
